Gustavo Cadenas Delascio, Phd Student, University of Oslo

Gustavo is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD Fellow at the Centre for Development and the Environment at the University of Oslo. His research focuses on Financial Diplomacy, with an emphasis on the EU’s soft power strategies for promoting green transformations in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

He holds a Master’s in International Administration and Global Governance from the University of Gothenburg, where he previously worked as a research assistant at the School of Global Studies, studying regionalism and the transformation of national sovereignty. Gustavo is also a guest lecturer at the Department of Urban Planning at Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela where he teaches financial methods for the evaluation of urban plans and projects. 

His academic interests include international cooperation, economic inequality, regional and global governance, and the intersection of sustainable development and financial public policy.
