Ayşegül Kayaoğlu

Dr. Ayşegül Kayaoğlu is a senior researcher in the DFG-funded “Global Developmental Dynamics of Social Policy“ (CRC1342) at the University of Bremen. She is also an affiliated researcher at the ISDC and a research associate at the Economic Research Forum (ERF). Previously, she was an Associate Professor of Economics at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in Türkiye and a senior researcher at the International Security and Development Center (ISDC) in Germany. She was also a Forced Migration and Refugee Studies (FFVT) fellow and a visiting scholar at the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) at the University of Osnabrück in Germany from 2023-2024. During her stay, she also worked as a guest lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Osnabrück and she taught the graduate-level course on the Economics of Migration. Her research interests are migration, labor economics, development economics, gender and impact evaluation. She has published in various peer-reviewed journals, including World Development, Journal of African Economics, Defense and Peace Economics, and Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies.
