Elise Pizzi
Elise Pizzi is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on public goods provision and the effect of public goods provision on human development outcomes. Her current work explores the provision of safety and reduction of risk as extreme climate- and weather-shocks become more severe and frequent. She asks what factors shape government response to natural disasters, including addressing disaster displacement, and what are the consequences for human development. She completed her PhD at the University of Colorado and was previously a Peace Corps volunteer in Georgia and a Fulbright scholar in China.
