Steve Monroe is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Yale-NUS College. He is a scholar of development with a regional emphasis on the Arab world. Monroe's work focuses on two developmental challenges in particular: the political obstacles to economic integration and gender equality. His book, Varieties of Protectionism: Neoliberal Reform in the Arab World, is forthcoming at Cornell University Press.
