Each semester, GLD welcomes interns from various fields within social sciences and data science, including Political Science, Gender Studies, Global Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, and IT. Our goal is for all interns to acquire new skills, gain valuable experience in a research setting, and boost their employability by applying their academic knowledge in real-world situations.

Interns Spring 2026

Felicia Grufman Jönsson is a research intern in GLD’s Survive, Thrive, or Deprive Project. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from Niagra University in New York and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Administration and Global Governance at the University of Gothenburg.

Her work has previously focused on women in politics and their representation in government. During her bachelor’s degree, she focused her research on how women’s representation in government affects a country's social progress index score. Her experience volunteering during the wildfire disaster relief in Maui, Hawaii  furthered her interest in researching equitable and sustainable outcomes in crisis response and recovery, as well as how policies translate into local communities.
