GLD Interns

Each semester, GLD welcomes interns from various fields within social sciences and data science, including Political Science, Gender Studies, Global Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, and IT. Our goal is for all interns to acquire new skills, gain valuable experience in a research setting, and boost their employability by applying their academic knowledge in real-world situations.

Interns Spring 2025

Sibylla Carcela Villanueva is in the final stages of completing her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology at the University of Gothenburg. She has a keen interest in international relations, feminism, and diplomacy. When not working or studying, she enjoys staying active by dancing and hitting the gym.

During her internship at GLD, Sibylla will work with visiting scholar Michael Wahman and the Political Change and Local Governance in Emerging Cities project.

Samuele Pieraccini is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in European Studies at the University of Gothenburg. He has a background in foreign languages from his bachelor studies. Samuele has a passion for learning new things and actively seeks out experiences that broaden his horizons. He has a keen interest in international relations and global governance, which drives his academic pursuits.

During his internship at GLD, Samuele will work with the Political Change and Local Governance in Emerging Cities project.

Dalitso Tembo is a graduate student in the European Interdisciplinary Master in African Studies (EIMAS) program, offered by the University of Bayreuth, Bordeaux Montaigne University, and the University of Porto. He has an academic background in politics and development studies, and his research focuses on integrating resilience into governance dynamics through infrastructure development in Malawi. Dalitso is also passionate about participatory research methodologies and promoting policy coherence for equitable development within South-South Cooperation.

During his internship at GLD, Dalitso will work with the Survive, Thrive, or Deprive? Drivers and Outcomes of Resilience During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Malawi project.
