GLD Announces Expansion to Cornell University

Published

The Governance and Local Development Institute (GLD) expands internationally, bridging research excellence between Sweden and the United States.

The Governance and Local Development (GLD) Institute has established its second branch at Cornell University this fall, marking a significant milestone in its international research strategy.

The expansion follows GLD's continued operations at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, with the organization implementing internal reorganization to adjust to its growing international presence. The new Cornell location will be housed within the Einaudi Center for International Studies and the Department of Government.

Leading this strategic expansion is GLD Director Ellen Lust, who has simultaneously assumed roles as Director of the Einaudi Center and Professor in the Department of Government and Brooks School of Public Policy.

"This expansion allows us to further our commitment to producing high-quality research in governance and local development," said Lust. The new branch aims to provide valuable methodological tools, enhance research databases, and create a global network of opportunities for scholars worldwide.
