Governance and Service Delivery in Post-Revolutionary Tunisia (LGPI Tunisia 2015)
Short description
The Governance and Service Delivery in Post-Revolutionary Tunisia project (LGPI 2015 Tunisia) offered a detailed view of the successes and challenges across Tunisia’s municipalities. Its findings help citizens, officials, and development experts identify needs, allocate resources effectively, and track progress.
About the Project
The Governance and Service Delivery in Post-Revolutionary Tunisia project (LGPI 2015 Tunisia) explored how local governance and service provision shape citizens’ trust in the state. Following Tunisia’s 2011 revolution and new local government laws, the project sought to address gaps in understanding of local governance, government capacity, and service delivery variations.
In its first phase, the project implemented the Local Governance Process Indicators, LGPI (previously Local Governance Performance Index), across 18 municipalities in six governorates, with plans to expand to all 24 governorates. It also incorporated studies of municipalities and health facilities to provide deeper insights.
By offering a detailed picture of successes and challenges in municipal governance, the project helps citizens, officials, and development specialists identify needs, allocate resources, and measure progress.
